A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of showcasing my wedding decor at The Royal Station Hotel in Newcastle for their wedding fair. If you’ve never stepped inside this iconic venue, you’re missing out on a true gem in the heart of the city. With its grand Victorian architecture, elegant ballrooms, and the convenience of hosting both ceremony and reception in one place, it’s easy to see why so many couples fall in love with it.
Setting Up in a Stunning Space
Arriving early to set up, I was reminded just how much character this venue has. The high ceilings, beautiful chandeliers, and classic period features make for a gorgeous wedding backdrop. Whether you're planning a grand celebration or something a little more intimate, The Royal Station offers flexible options to suit different styles. My favourite suite is the Balmoral Suite. With its rich dark wood paneling, ornate ceiling details, and grand windows that allow natural light to pour in, the room works perfectly with my lush green decor as the deep wood tones provide the perfect contrast, creating a beautifully balanced aesthetic that feels both luxurious and inviting.
Catching Up with Supplier Friends
One of the best things about wedding fairs is reconnecting with other talented suppliers in the industry. It’s always a pleasure to see familiar faces (Mick Merriott Photography) and meet new creatives (David Stoker Music) who are so incredibly talented.
