Beautiful Weddings at Bradbury Glade: Some of My Favourite Set-Ups

Bradbury Glade hidden off the A689 in County Durham, surrounded by tall trees, peaceful woodland, and full of rustic charm, is one of my favourite (and nearest) venues to work at. With its gorgeous wooden ceremony barn and stunning tipi reception space, it offers a natural, romantic backdrop for couples who love a natural feeling for their day. It’s a perfect fit for my style of wedding decor – modern, soft and foliage-rich with a handcrafted touch. The venue’s forest setting and earthy tones align beautifully with my sustainable ethos and decor pieces that are designed to complement nature rather than compete with it.

The Wildflower Wedding at Bradbury Glade

One of my most-loved set-ups at Bradbury Glade was a whimsical wildflower-inspired wedding. The reception tables featured clusters of bud vases filled with dried flowers in soft, delicate tones, paired with blush pink table runners and chair sashes. In the ceremony barn, I set up my signature canopy trees and a foliage arch to create a wow entrance. Positioning the trees at the start of the aisle not only gave the bride a stunning backdrop to walk through, but it also created a beautiful frame for that iconic moment couples share – the “drop kiss” – just after being pronounced married. These details aren’t just meaningful in the moment; they also offer photographers multiple layers and angles to capture truly magical shots. The Spanish-Inspired Wedding

Another standout was a Spanish-themed wedding that brought warmth and vibrancy to the woodland setting. The couple got engaged in Spain and wanted to recreate the feel of the bougainvillea-filled landscapes they fell in love with. To bring their vision to life, I used dried bougainvillea in rich pink hues for the centrepieces, creating texture and colour that felt authentic and heartfelt. Artificial bougainvillea was also woven through larger decor elements, adding consistency and a splash of romance throughout the tipi and ceremony barn. It was a bold and beautiful nod to their love story – and looked incredible against the rustic timber and leafy green backdrop.

The Autumn Wedding

Bradbury Glade looks stunning in the Autumn, and one of my favourite seasonal set-ups embraced the richness of that time of year. For this wedding, I styled the tables with deep green runners and matching chair sashes, complemented by warm wooden lanterns surrounded by autumn foliage. Each table felt cosy and grounded, perfect for a woodland celebration. I also brought in my pampas backdrop – with its natural oat-like tones – to add a warm, textural feature that echoed the surrounding trees and fallen leaves. It was a perfect match for the rustic venue and the season, creating a relaxed but modern atmosphere.

The Boho Wedding

Lastly, a dreamy boho wedding at Bradbury Glade really showcased how versatile the space can be. Photographed by Jack Cook, my macrame backdrop took pride of place behind the head table, adding a soft, artisanal feel to the tipi. White chiffon chair drops created flowing, romantic lines throughout the space, while the ceremony featured my green foliage arch – a classic piece that works beautifully with the wooden barn’s structure. This set-up was the perfect balance of bohemian styling with a natural twist, adding softness and style without overpowering the venue’s woodland charm.
